Enjoy a real 'off the beaten track' adventure with no off-highway riding.. on a fascinating, challeging 3 week adventure. This trip follows a very similar route to our London-Kathmandu Expediton, but at a much slower pace, with more time to explore and soak up your surroundings. Explore Asia and the Middle East from the iconic city of Kathmandu, through the heart of the Middle East, all the way to Istanbul in Turkey.

Expedition Highlights

  • Day 1 - taking over your bike in bustling Kathmandu at the foot of the mightly Himalayas, and preparing for the amazing adventures to come during your initial expedition briefings and ride-out.
  • India - learn the rules of the road Indian style! Watch out for meandering cows, speeding busses and out of control rickshaws during the frenetic, fascinating ride towards Delhi.
  • Pakistan - A beautiful country steeped in history. More challenging roads and hectic towns and cities as we head back west through Quetta and the central mountain ranges.
  • Iran - We are nowon the ancient Silk Road and we will take time to enjoy this unique country. Friendly, welcoming people and some great sights help make Iran the special place it is for the adventure traveller.
  • Turkey - getting back on the tourist trail with some great overnight stops at some fantastic locations. Biblical, spectacular Mount Arrarat, the cave town of Goreme and Mount Nemrut are the most-see sights of the final few days of this fascinating tour.
  • Istanbul - quite possibly the biggest and most hectic city to face any adventure motorcyclist! Keep your wits about you as you ride into this historic city. Visit the Blue Mosque and enjoy an enening meal on the banks of the Bosphorus before jetting home at the end of an unforgettable 3 weeks of exploration.
BMW F650GS Dakar

The Bikes

You can only use a Kudu bike on this expedition. We will continue to use our tried and tested F650 Dakars in 2009. Fully Expedition prepared, they are strong, comfortable bikes with a reliable and powerful single cylinder 650cc engine. In our opinion they are the best bike for the job and will cope with the rigours of trans-continental travel well.

If you have your own bike and want to bring it then please feel free - see the Prices and Booking page for full details and costs.

Pre-Expedition Training and Orientation

We at Kudu take great pride in running thoroughly professional adventures which are open to anyone with a desire to challenge themselves and what they are capable of.  You do not need to be a highly experienced motorcyclist, off-road expert or have a huge amount of adventurous travel experience.  Our training and orientation days are designed to be informal, enjoyable affairs where you can meet your fellow adventurers, and the Kudu team in a relaxed environment.
